160 years made in Greece. Industry, Innovation, Novelty
Technopolis City of Athens and the Industrial Gas Museum are celebrating “160 years Gazi”, 160 years since the foundation of the Athens Gasworks, with a series of anniversary acts.
The “160 years Gazi” celebration’s highlight is in January 2018 when there is the temporary exhibition “160 years made in Greece. Industry, Innovation, Novelty”, from January until March 2018 bringing out -for the first time to that extent- the industrial development in Greece, for the period 1860-1970 and how it has evolved so far.
During this celebration, more than 800 industrial history objects and 90 active and non-active industries will be displayed.
The Tomato Industrial Museum “D.Nomikos” participates in this exhibition, following the cultivation, processing and production process of tomato, one of the most famous and traditional products of Santorini.
The items to be exhibited are books, contracts, seals, labels “D.Nomikos” as well as the closed ½ kg can machine, which every Sunday will be put into operation! Visitors will have the opportunity to close their own cans with the old label of the Vlychada’s factory.
Also, souvenirs from the Tomato Industrial Museum Shop are going to be sold in the Gift Shop of the Industrial Gas Museum.
