Exhibition at the Tomato Industrial Museum “D. Nomikos: “Santorini and the Revolution of 1821”: In the context of the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, the role played by Thera in the uprising, the life on the island during that period and at the same time will be presented systematically for the first time they highlight important aspects of our cultural and maritime tradition, which are connected to the period of the Turkish occupation and the first years after it.
The exhibition presents life in Santorini before, during and immediately after the revolution, with original documents, letters, maps, works of art, engravings and objects from the period. It is carried out with the contribution of paleographers, historians, cartographers, collectors, archaeologists and architects. Duration: 07.08.2021 – 10.10.2021, Free entry.
