The title of the exhibition signals the distinguished Philhellenic American photographer’s desire to penetrate the raw material of classical beauty: unexpected angles of ancient sculptures are captured by his inventive lens and then printed on processed DiBond aluminum that gives the photograph an almost tactile depth .
J.Joshua Garrick’s work talks about life and death, youth and old age, strength and humility, beauty and pain, joy and loss, victory and defeat, love, mortality and immortality.
The exhibition has already been presented at the National Archaeological Museum of Athens, the Sismanoglio Palace in Istanbul, as well as the exhibition spaces of the Greek Consulate in New York and the Greek Embassy in Brussels.
