The Santorini Arts Factory invites you to its’ first workshop of the new year, on the works of artist Giannis Kottis.
Giannis Kottis was born and raised in the village of Kokkoni in Corinth. He moved to Athens when he was accepted to the School of Fine Arts, where he was taught Painting by Giannis Moralis and Nikos Nikolaou.
Inspiration came to him one afternoon in Paris, when he felt nostalgic about a summer recipe his mother used to make called gemista. This brought images of spices, peppers, tomatoes, zucchini and their flowers to his mind. Afterwards, memories from the summers he spent in Corinth fed his entire work with a distinctive sense of optimism, youthfulness, and sensitivity.
Relief paintings with mixed techniques, highlight villages, houses, bicycles, animals, people, and large skies which bring to mind the rejuvenation of nature.
Through his work, Giannis Kottis makes us feel carefree, a feeling we will explore in our meetings, while experimenting with his techniques.
