From Loula Anagnostaki to Lena Kitsopoulou
After the successful performance of “The Parade” in Athens, Aegina, Patra, Thessaloniki, Ioannina, the Dodecanese, Rethymno, Irakleio, etc., This Famous Tiny Circus are diving into the greedy and subversive world of Lena Kitsopoulou, bringing to life “SPIRIDOULA” from the “Mati tou Psariou” (fish-eye) narrative collection. The play that impressed audiences and critics and received glowing reviews in Athens, is travelling to Santorini on the 1st of August, at the Santorini Arts Factory 2018. Konstantinos Markellos is directing, while Eleni Stergiou is performing.
A few words about the play
We will join the traditional New Year celebration at Giorgos’ parents’ house, through the cynical perspective of “Spiridoula” (the female figure in which the jealously of the 27 year-old Giorgos transformed into, upon seeing the love of his life, Mr. Aris, in the arms of a short woman). The host is Giorgos’ father, a military man of conservative values, and close friend of Mr. Aris. Mr. Aris’ wedding invitation to Giorgos’ family is the catalyst that Giorgos needed to bring hidden secrets to light, and search for the way to leave social and erotic rejection behind, abandoning a body that doesn’t belong to him.
