Honorary Distinction for the Tomato Industrial Museum “D. Nomikos”
Greek Graphic Design & Illustration Awards
The awarding ceremony of the Hellenic Graphic Design & Illustration Awards (EBGE) organized by +DESIGN magazine and held under the auspices of the World Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda) and the Greek Graphic Designers Union took place on the Main Stage of the Onassis Foundation’s Arts and Letters Building.
Where every year the most important names and the most talented newcomers meet in the fields of Greek visual creation, graphic design, digital media design and illustration, the committee that gathers, evaluates and rewards the best examples of visual communication in Greece, awarded the Industrial Tomato Museum “D. Νomikos” Honorable Mention in the “Visual Identity” category among 192 entries, for the company logo designed by Thanasis Efthymiou. The logo symbol stands out for its minimal character, as it combines the red circle that refers to the tomato and the gray rectangle that symbolizes the factory chimney.
The Tomato Industrial Museum “D. Nomikos” is housed in the old tomato factory “D. Nomikos” in Vlychada, Santorini, which was built in 1945. Today it is a modern industrial museum that offers its visitors a rare look back in time, historical and interactive, including exhibits from 1890 – such as processing machines, old handwritten books, tools and tags, as well as rich audio-visual material from testimonies and narratives.
